A Quick Intro

Hi there! We’re the N&T sisters… or better known as Kayla and Erika. And yes, we’re actually sisters.

We have another sister, Tarah, who decided not to join the fam business because… well… she’s pretty dang amazing at being a mom to four kids, refinishing furniture, baking gorgeous cakes, and just about anything and everything else. (All three of us are pictured below).

Kayla (left 👇🏻) is the older (and bossier 😉) sister. She’s a perfectionist in the best way possible, so it only makes sense for her to be in charge of the business. A few more fun facts about Kayla:

• She has three kids
• She has literally no sense of direction
• She loves Grey’s Anatomy and the Bachelor

Erika (right 👇🏻) is the younger (and sorta crazy) sister. She’s fairly detail oriented, apart from occasionally making up her own words and catch phrases, so naturally she’s in charge of marketing. A few more fun facts about Erika:

• She has two kids
• She has an unhealthy obsession with ice cream
• She loves The Office and America’s Funniest Home Videos

We each have our strengths and, whether you believe it or not, we LOVE working together. People say that it’s a bad idea to go into business with family… we could NOT disagree more.

How it All Began

One day, Kayla looked at Erika and asked, “Hey, you wanna start a photog biz?” and Erika said, “Heck yeah! Let’s do it!”

Okay… maybe that wasn’t the exact exchange that took place. But it went a little something like that. 😉

Honestly, we both had had enough of the corporate politics. Ironically, we both have majors in Public Relations and minors in Marketing. We both had been in the corporate scene long enough to realize it wasn’t for us.

We wanted to work for a company who had morals and values we believed in… and what better way to do that than to start your own business.

Why Photography? 

Everything about it is magical to us. We have the privilege of capturing tender, precious, once-in-a-lifetime moments. And that is worth everything to us.

We’ve been there… we’ve been brides planning our dream weddings.

We’ve been pregnant for the first time… capturing every phase of our growing bellies.

We’ve had babies… soaking up every minute of those precious “first” moments.

Life is too short. That’s something that screams true every day. And when we look back on our lives, we want to remember these moments. And we want other families to as well.

Photos are the closest thing we have to reliving the past. Because a photo is more than just a digital snapshot or a piece of glossy paper. It’s a spark in your memory of a moment you shared with someone who you love deeply.

When we’re old and our memories are failing us, how else will we remember?

As photographers, we see ourselves as storytellers. Whether that story is told now or 100 years from now to your great (maybe great?) grandchildren.
