I (Kayla) could gaze at these images all day! The golden sun during the winter season is so beautiful. Complement it with a gorgeous floral crown, stunning hair and make-up, and an elegant lace gown, and you just can’t go wrong with nature’s brown and golden tones. Although the crisp, frigid weather isn’t so pleasant in Illinois, we braved the cold to capture a beautiful couple — Jill and Nick. Erika and I have known Jill for over 10 years. Our sister Tarah and Jill were childhood friends, and now her and Erika are co-workers at the same company! Jill and Nick are such a sweet couple. We knew these two would be perfect for the earthy stylized, winter engagement session we were envisioning. Even though, they weren’t “officially” engaged at the time of the shoot, Nick had a huge surprise for Jill the following evening. He popped the question while ice-skating outside and Jill said “yes!” We are so happy for you, Jill and Nick! Photographed in East Peoria, Illinois.
