You got the ring (way to go!), so now what? Well now, the real fun begins… let the wedding planning commence.

First, you start calling around to see what venues are available. Once you secure your date and venue, you work on booking a photographer.

But holy cow!!! Why in the world are photographers so dang expensive? Literally like thousands of dollars!

Yeah, it’s shocking at first. We get it… we’ve been in your shoes with planning our own weddings.

But let us explain… you should know why wedding photography is so expensive and what you ultimately get out of that cost.  

We’re the gift that doesn’t stop giving. 😉

It sounds cheesy, but we’re not in it only for your wedding day. We’re here for everything leading up to it and, obviously, the day itself! We’re here for questions, wedding timelines, tips and tricks, and yes, even a stiff drink when the planning gets rough.  

Basically, you have our divided or undivided attention. Which, as you can imagine, means we’re not only working for the allotted hours you purchase in your packages. We’re here for the long haul, baby!

As an added bonus of being our clients, you receive fun (and free) surprises throughout your wedding planning journey, one item of which is a bridal guide (created by us!). This baby has everything you need for smooth sailing! Like we’ve said before… we’ve been in your shoes and we won’t leave you out in the dark!

We legit love your love! We want your day to be super special and that’s why we aren’t going to book you as a client and then drop all ties until your big day gets here. No way José! We’re staying in touch throughout the planning process, making sure you feel prepared for your big day.

That fancy equipment doesn’t pay for itself. 📷

Sure, today people have iPhones, iPads, iEverything, and everyone thinks they’re a photographer! That’s fine… it’s all cool. But actually, our fancy equipment does a lot of things that those devices don’t.

For one thing, our camera bodies and lens provide crisp shots that show every last detail (don’t worry, we can edit out some details you don’t want seen 😉). They provide beautiful blur, contrast, and sharpness, allowing the eye to focus on what’s important.

We shoot in RAW which means you can blow that puppy up to be the size of a wall and it’ll still be in focus. You try blowing up an iPhone pic and you’ll have all sorts of pixelation to the point where the photo likely won’t be legible.

Apart from our cameras, we also have stacks and stacks of SD cards to back up all your wedding images, flashes to make sure the lighting is always just right, editing software to deliver you beautiful images, and sooo much more.

A lot happens behind the scenes of our business, and our equipment is expensive for a reason!

Posing isn’t as simple as it looks. 💁‍♀️

We’ve taken classes upon classes to learn how to get real authentic poses out of you two, from laugher to intimacy. No one wants awkward prom poses for their wedding album.

If you ask Aunt Nancy to take your photos because, eh, she has a decent camera, she likely won’t capture genuine moments between you two. And if Aunt Nancy is a pro photographer, all the power to her! (Not bashing aunts here, we love our aunts!)

We consider ourselves lifestyle photographers because we focus on capturing raw moments that make you YOU! We do a few posed photos because we know those are likely what you’ll use for your Christmas cards or hang above the mantel. But we want to get to the center of who you are together. Those are the photographs that’ll tell a story one day as your children are flipping through your wedding album.  

So to sum it all up, we are trained to capture who you are and help you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Nervousness will show in your photos. We’re here to take the stress of photos away… to help you look relaxed and like you’re living your best life in every photo!

We’re moms and wives, and though we love what we do, we’re also trying to help provide for our families. Running a small business is a lot of hard work and it’s often hard on the pocket book.

So while your wedding photography may seem expensive, it’s actually helping to keep us running so we can continue to capture memories for lots of couples! And we THANK YOU for that!!!

Though, obviously no one should ever go into debt while planning a wedding. It helps to pick and choose what’s most important to you in your day. Compromises may need to be made, but at the end of the day, you’re marrying your best friend and that’s all that matters!
